Getting ready for Harvard

Yes, at almost 70 I will be attending Harvard University in Cambridge MA. this summer. Why go there instead of to the local senior center? I am curious. What can be done to help the millions of children each year who fall through the educational cracks, end up in jail, on the streets, or depressed and do not maximize their potential? I am especially interested in Native American and rural children.

This young man is named Don E. Likens. He can be reached at: journeysdon25@gmail.com. He beaded an Eagle Feather for me to take to Harvard.
This feather along with a shield and several other feathers will each hold the words written on leather of our elders, our visionaries, and our educators answering from their point of view: What do they feel will help us close the Achievement Gap that exists for Native American children and youth?

It exists and is a default line that runs across America, through our urban schools, the Bureau of Indian Affairs Schools, and
our public schools on and off reservations (www.goia.wa.gov).
